Grilled 6 - 1 Misr
Dark skies made the crowd of 2150 at
The Cooking Pot a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Jakob Cristian was the appointed referee with assistance provided by

Tohami Hammam. Grilled fielded:

Misr's starters:

Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Misr HO lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. Grilled used their mythical (17) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Yee Jian Hui, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! It emerged that
Karim Abd El Aziz had hurt his right foot after 20 minutes, which led him to abandon the game. The player that took his place was
Abd El Raouf Bassiouny. Grilled were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 25 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by
Bhavya Panigrahi. 2 - 0 for the home side.
Lau Chu Soon was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
Chia Kwang Tse, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. Grilled's
Bilal Mohammad Harun had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to
Chia Kwang Tse who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Bilal Mohammad Harun squirmed through their central defence after 35 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
Yee Jian Hui had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 36 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Lim An Keng came on for
Chia Kwang Tse. 46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Yee Jian Hui gave
Prokop Mottl a quick hug as he left the field. Grilled's
Moey Xin Seng saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 53 minutes. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. 65 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Bhavya Panigrahi broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Grilled.
Lau Chu Soon would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Gilbert Webb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 70 minutes. Grilled put themselves up 5 - 0 when
Aw Keng Chuan broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 82 minutes, Grilled did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
Moey Xin Seng was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 6 - 0. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. After 90 minutes
Khaled El Bendary seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Misr making it 6 - 1. A slight injury to his right calf muscle meant
Ramy Abd El Aziz had to leave the match early. It happened after 91 minutes. The replacement for the injured player was
Al Hassan Akram. The match ends 6 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.
Moey Xin Seng performed admirably for Grilled.
Lim An Keng was a disappointment, however. Misr's best player was
Islam Abd El Tawwab. On the other hand,
Abd El Raouf Bassiouny's play was disheartening.
