Deinos 3 - 1 Grilled

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Fossil Park saw a crowd turnout of 46631. Cosimo Benzinger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sameer Nadir Al-Riyamy and Michele Marcheselli. The following players had been chosen by Deinos: Pěnkava - Biliotti, Eng Dong, Truong, Abd El Khalek, Usel - Schlattmeier, Long Hock, Ridwan, Chao Ah - Tarkowski.

Grilled fielded: Vadalà - Panigrahi, Chu Soon - Mohammad Harun, Thach, Keng Chuan, Kwang Tse, Xin Lee - Xin Seng, Mazhud, Chuan Yong.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 5-4-1 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Deinos showed off their divine (20) creative tactics. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their magical (18) level with that tactic. Deinos took the lead after 8 minutes as a result of Lech Tarkowski's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Deinos scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Dino Biliotti after 25 minutes. The crowd roared its approval when Radovan Pěnkava somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Grilled's Teo Chuan Yong 34 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. The visitors replied 34 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 2 - 1, as Bilal Mohammad Harun dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. Fokko Schlattmeier increased the lead for Deinos to 3 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! It was 3 - 1 at the break. Deinos enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Chia Kwang Tse off the field. Lim An Keng took his place. Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud was in no condition to play on. 52 minutes into the game he left the field on a stretcher, with his right thigh bandaged, and crying out in pain. This gave Prokop Mottl a chance to take to the field instead. Bhavya Panigrahi had a lethal looking free kick that grazed the post after 65 minutes. Lau Chu Soon would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Gilbert Webb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 70 minutes. Ong 'Kryptonite' Chao Ah had a fantastic opportunity to put Deinos up another goal 76 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. Deinos's Zachary Truong was shown a yellow card after 90 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The match ends 3 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Deinos, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Deinos's top performer was clearly Chew Long Hock. However, Zachary Truong made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Moey Xin Seng. Lim An Keng was a disappointment, however.
