Clear skies welcomed the 2722 spectators who had made their way to Stade des Comores. Gordon Dobson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dante Parker and Johan Gremminger. Port-au-Roi fielded: Alhadhur - Assoumani, Boina, Obado - Kisulu, M'Dahoma, Boina, Ali Mohamed, M'Madi - Ibrahim, Abdullah.

The following players had been chosen by Grilled: Law - Keng Chuan, Mohammad Harun, Tran - Trindade, An Keng, Chu Soon, Khairul, Baena - Velho, Mazhud.

3-5-2 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled used their supernatural (14) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 10 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Jaanfar Assoumani, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. After 21 minutes, Shakour Ibrahim put Port-au-Roi ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. With 30 minutes played, Mohamed Abdullah could have brought this one home for Port-au-Roi as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. 33 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Isaiah Kisulu broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Port-au-Roi. Mohamed Abdullah went down after twisting his right ankle in minute 33, but was able to continue the match none the less. Port-au-Roi's Mohamed Abdullah increased the lead to 4 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 36 minutes. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Port-au-Roi enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

The Port-au-Roi coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 46 minutes into the game. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. José Luiz Velho reluctantly made way for Prokop Mottl on the pitch. After 55 minutes, Antois Boina sent the corner kick right to Juma Obado who headed it sharply past the keeper. 5 - 0! Dante Tran would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Gilbert Webb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 65 minutes. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. The crowd roared its approval when Mustafid Alhadhur somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Grilled's Mohd Marzuki Khairul 66 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. The referee showed Port-au-Roi's Jaanfar Assoumani the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Nasserdine M'Dahoma got himself booked. The manager of Port-au-Roi was not happy. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Bilal Mohammad Harun gave 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) a quick hug as he left the field. As Bilal Mohammad Harun left the field, the coach signaled to Gilbert Webb to be the new set pieces taker. Gilbert Webb was handed the Grilled captain's armband. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. Coming from the right, Nasserdine M'Dahoma almost managed to score another goal for Port-au-Roi, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. The match ends 5 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Port-au-Roi, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

Port-au-Roi's top performer was clearly Younoussa Ali Mohamed. Antois Boina on the other hand, had a terrible day. Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud performed admirably for Grilled. 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) was a disappointment, however.
