Grilled 3 - 4 Moeinsingapore

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 80474 to The Cooking Pot. Erni Jager was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Wouter-Jan van Aalen and Jes Rosendal. Grilled's lineup was: Vadal - Panigrahi, Chu Soon - Chuan Yong, Thach, Keng Chuan, Kwang Tse, Xin Lee - Xin Seng, Mazhud, Ze Han.

Moeinsingapore's starters: Confalonieri - Rengifo, Kennea - Alizadeh, Ma, Soppa, Hajer, Pimentel - Feng Da, Chu Meng, Gupta.

The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their utopian (19) level with that tactic. John Kennea was stuck like glue to Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud, diminishing the Grilled player's contribution in the match! Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Chan Ze Han caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 19 minutes. This gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. Chua Chu Meng tied the game at 1 - 1 after 20 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. 34 minutes in, the referee awarded Grilled a penalty. Bhavya Panigrahi coolly slotted it home for a 2 - 1 lead. Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 39 minutes. After suffering a nasty injury to his left calf muscle, Chan Ze Han left the field in tears. The unfortunate accident happened 42 minutes into the match. Kalki Parvathaneni tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 54 percent of the ball.

Bhavya Panigrahi increased Grilled's lead to 3 - 1 with a penalty spot cannonball. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their player Yang 'The Ox' Feng Da reduced the lead to make it 3 - 2 after 75 minutes, following a pass from the right. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Moeinsingapore levelled the score after 79 minutes to make it 3 - 3, as Abhishek Gupta struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. The referee showed Moeinsingapore's John Kennea the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Chu Xin Lee off the field. Lim An Keng took his place. Lau Chu Soon would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Yee Jian Hui entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. Moeinsingapore took the lead after 90 minutes making the score 3 - 4. Chris Ma placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni was shown a yellow card after 91 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The match ends 3 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

Kalki Parvathaneni performed admirably for Grilled. Yee Jian Hui on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Moeinsingapore player was without a doubt Abhishek Gupta. John Kennea turned in a dismal performance, however.
