SingaStyle 7 - 0 Grilled

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 87764 to Singa Arena. Götz Zollondz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by George Harrison and Lembit Annette. SingaStyle's lineup was: Tegus - Kempers, Paneş - Dagnino, Küng, Benveniste, Ting Feng, Soares - Mullens, Cosio, Salaun.

Grilled fielded: Salmiņš - Panigrahi, Carapaica - Mohammad Harun, Kamel, Kannan, Xin Lee, Parvathaneni - Xin Seng, Mazhud, Ze Han.

2-5-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+4) (24) level with that tactic. After 25 minutes, Erwin Küng came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving SingaStyle the lead. The referee showed Grilled's Salah Kamel the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. SingaStyle's Procopio Dagnino increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 30 minutes. Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud could've grabbed a goal for Grilled 33 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. 34 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Fernando Tomás Soares broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for SingaStyle. It was a fine day for Kalki Parvathaneni on his wing, his cross pass to Bilal Mohammad Harun was especially delicate 35 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. SingaStyle's Fernando Tomás Soares's long shot really ought to have found the net 36 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SingaStyle, with 53 percent of the ball.

As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Bhavya Panigrahi reluctantly made way for Gilbert Webb on the pitch. Bhavya Panigrahi was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Gilbert Webb got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. The visitors got a chance to pull one back after 49 minutes, as the home defence went to sleep, leaving Chan Ze Han completely unmarked in the middle. His strike was pathetic though, and dribbled into the arms of the home side's keeper. After 62 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Daniel Salaun gave the SingaStyle supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0. Cheers filled the stadium as Petronel Paneş broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to SingaStyle. Grilled's Douglas Carapaica was shown a yellow card after 71 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Neo Ting Feng went down after twisting his left ankle after 71 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The replacement for the injured player was Ulrich Grasser. SingaStyle managed to extend their lead to 6 - 0 when Daniel Salaun cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. 88 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. José Luiz Velho came on for Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! 89 minutes in, José Luiz Velho made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but Suhe Tegus refused to let the ball slip by him. After 90 minutes, Tomas Cosio put SingaStyle ahead 7 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. The match ends 7 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to SingaStyle, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Most important SingaStyle player was Daniel Salaun. Ulrich Grasser turned in a dismal performance, however. Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. Kalki Parvathaneni on the other hand, had a terrible day.
