Caramelitos 2 - 5 Grilled
It was a scorching day at the stadium today. It was a sunny day and the technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. They fielded:
Al-Rumaithi -
Dediu,
Manon -
Padovan,
旭洪 (Xuhong),
Guamán,
Aivazoglou,
Governatori -
Schirone,
Vendelø.
The following players had been selected:
Salmiņš -
Panigrahi,
Lunde -
Kannan,
Chuan Yong,
Xin Seng,
Mohammad Harun,
Kamel -
Ze Han,
Mazhud,
Mudaliar.
Los Caramelitos Cebuanos fielded a 2-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was a 2-5-3. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+5) (25) ability to attack in the middle today. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 6 minutes of hard work with a breakthrough from
Ottmar Schirone, who, all by his lonesome, came out of the right wing and hooked the ball over the visitors' keeper. The visitors didn't give in and, after 7 minutes,
Chan Ze Han got through the home side's central line of defense, rolling in the leveling goal to make it 1 - 1. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they directed a break on the wing into the center of the park. A mistake by the home side's central defense after 26 minutes allowed
Bilal Mohammad Harun to score for Grilled. The visitors have the lead, 1 - 2. 39 minutes into the game, Caramelitos seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate (5). Grilled already had the lead, so
Moey Xin Seng probably won't be too disappointed that his speculative shot from the right 40 minutes in fell wide of the goal. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Disgustin tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. A review of the gameplan helped Caramelitos get back to a solid (7) organization to start the second half. 46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Salah Kamel gave
Heng Dong Chu a quick hug as he left the field. With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Kalki Parvathaneni, though he would have liked to continue. Grilled's
Moey Xin Seng received a ball slotted perfectly through the home side's central defense after 50 minutes, and chipped it past the helpless keeper to increase the lead to 1 - 3. The away fans won't regret traveling for this one! 51 minutes in, Caramelitos appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only weak (4). After 65 minutes, Grilled's
Chan Ze Han burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 4. Given a free kick from an impossible angle, Grilled went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let
Shekar Kannan slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 1 - 5, 67 minutes into the game. The home club's fans got back into the match when
Jesper Vendelø broke through the visitors' central defense and caught their keeper napping, making it 2 - 5. The referee showed Caramelitos's
Jan Padovan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Vikram Mudaliar off.
Chu Xin Lee took his place. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. Grilled's
Chan Ze Han made it through the home team's defense on the right hand side 89 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded net when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. The match ends 2 - 5. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 63 percent possession of the ball.
Caramelitos's top performer was clearly
何 (Ho) 旭洪 (Xuhong). Speaking of stinking up the place,
Ludovic Manon sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. I can't remember
Shekar Kannan ever having a worse night than he just had.
