Grilled 6 - 0 Ramseille

53775 fans braved the pouring rain at The Cooking Pot. Jarosław Rembielak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Albert Antolí and Alípio Nunes. For strong, physical players the heavy rain was easy to overcome, it was even an advantage given their style of play. Others, such as the quick or technical ones, made bleaker appearances. All of Jurong was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. Grilled fielded: Salmiņš - Panigrahi, Lunde - Kamel, Mohammad Harun, Xin Seng, Chuan Yong, Dong Chu - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Parvathaneni.

The following players had been chosen by Ramseille: Buffon - Ramberg, Lõhmus, Moreno, Eliava, Bačnar - Sonino, Esinay, Robert, Reeperbahn - Lamm.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 5-4-1. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+5) (25) level with that tactic. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Ramseille on this day, taking advantage of their magical (18) level with that tactic. Grilled took the lead 3 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as Bhavya Panigrahi elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. After 4 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Heng Dong Chu might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Giancarlo Buffon made a spectacular save. After 5 minutes, the defensive line of Ramseille created a counterattack through the middle that gave Sergio Sonino a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. The referee showed Ramseille's Sergio Sonino the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Salah Kamel increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Grilled solidified their lead at the 8 minute mark, as Kalki Parvathaneni dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Cheers filled the stadium as Kalki Parvathaneni broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Grilled. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 72 percent of possession.

A lovely run by Ramseille's Pierre-Yves Robert left his markers for dead and should have resulted in a goal, but the finish went just wide. 59 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Bhavya Panigrahi broke through, making the score 5 - 0 for Grilled. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Kalki Parvathaneni squirmed through their central defence after 81 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0. By then Kalki Parvathaneni had scored three goals - a hat trick! Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Kalki Parvathaneni could have increased the lead after 83 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Shekar Kannan came on for Salah Kamel. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Heng Dong Chu reluctantly made way for Chu Xin Lee on the pitch. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 6 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 76 percent of the ball.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Chan Ze Han. Shekar Kannan on the other hand, had a terrible day. Steinar Ramberg performed admirably for Ramseille. On the other hand, Hugo Lamm's play was disheartening.
