Arrogancae 0 - 6 Grilled
The 38053 fans in attendance at
Avengers Apocalypse were roasting in the hot sun.
Björn Fürbringer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mark Smyth and
Lluís Cairó. The weather was sunny, which meant perfect conditions for technical players in both teams. However, it was also quite warm, which meant quick or physically strong players were drained faster and couldn't play their best game. Arrogancae's starters:
Nader -
Symonette,
Obaidan,
Eng Wei,
Mao,
Pălcuţ -
Chapkovich,
榮霖 (Ronglin),
D'Agostino -

Azcurra.
The following players took the field for Grilled:

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Arrogancae went for 5-3-2 while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Arrogancae, taking advantage of their supernatural (14) level with that tactic. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+3) (23) level with that tactic. The visiting
Moey Xin Seng was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 10 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. With 15 minutes played,
Douglas Carapaica nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. After 29 minutes, Grilled sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
Teo Chuan Yong, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 2. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. 31 minutes into the match,
Teo Chuan Yong came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. With their counter attack move halted 33 minutes into the game, Arrogancae were left with a free kick. The ball is passed straight through to the other end of the penalty area, with hopes for it to reach
Danila Chapkovich. However, he didn't have his wits about him and the ball went out. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Marcelo Iván Azcurra from Arrogancae a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 77 percent of possession.
The visitors almost increased their lead after 54 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar. Having turned the direction of play quickly, the Arrogancae counter attack ended as the ball carrier was brought down violently by a defender after 55 minutes. The resulting free kick was a flat shot into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and did not allow the opponents to reach the ball. After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper,
Vikram Mudaliar demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for Grilled 63 minutes into the match made the score 0 - 3. An amazing free kick flew past the home keeper 64 minutes into the match, putting Grilled ahead 0 - 4.
Bhavya Panigrahi was the scorer. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
Basil Nader but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. The Grilled free kick 73 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
Salah Kamel, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 5!
Vikram Mudaliar made a nice dash down the wing after 76 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. As the 78 minute mark approached, the Arrogancae coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Abdulla Obaidan reluctantly made way for
Tan Chi Pin on the pitch.
Guno Mao would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Daiwik Furia entered the game for Arrogancae as the match clock showed 78 minutes. After 78 minutes, the Arrogancae coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Daniel Pălcuţ off the field.
Lim Eng Yong took his place. With 79 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
Moey Xin Seng. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Douglas Carapaica gave
Sølve Lunde a quick hug as he left the field. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Bilal Mohammad Harun came on for
Chu Xin Lee. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Chan Ze Han gave
Prokop Mottl a quick hug as he left the field. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 0 - 6. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 79 percent of the ball.
Most important Arrogancae player was
Basil Nader.
Tim D'Agostino was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud.
Bhavya Panigrahi turned in a dismal performance, however.
