It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2. Grilled used their divine (+2) (22) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The wings were the focus of most of Blacksail's attacks on this day, taking advantage of their mythical (17) level with that tactic. They were singing the praises of
Salah Kamel 26 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Grilled. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Grilled to 2 - 0 as
Chan Ze Han finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Cheers filled the stadium as
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Grilled.
Vikram Mudaliar had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 35 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. Grilled's
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.
Moey Xin Seng increased the lead for Grilled to 4 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
Salah Kamel could have increased the lead after 55 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
Heng Dong Chu was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his left knee after 57 minutes.
Kalki Parvathaneni tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day.
Vikram Mudaliar could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 59 minutes. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud should probably have put his team up another goal after 73 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Georgi Koychev kept the visitors in the game. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Sølve Lunde came on for
Douglas Carapaica. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Chu Xin Lee reluctantly made way for
Shekar Kannan on the pitch. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. Grilled's
Salah Kamel saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 89 minutes. The match ends 4 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.
Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han.
Kalki Parvathaneni turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Blacksail player was without a doubt
Martin MacGuigan. On the other hand,
Alberto José Apicce's play was disheartening.
