Die Unendlichen fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was a 2-5-3. Grilled went for a narrow approach, using their divine (+5) (25) ability to focus their attacks down the middle. The guests took the lead 35 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
Moey Xin Seng scoring to make it 0 - 1. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defense 37 minutes into the match, an alert
Pasquale Zuriago poked the ball past the keeper, bringing Unendlichen level at 1 - 1. Grilled took the lead after 38 minutes making the score 1 - 2. The keeper had no chance on
Moey Xin Seng's fine volley fromleft of the net after a cross from the right. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 62 percent of possession.
After 59 minutes, Grilled raised their score by one when
Shekar Kannan's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
Moey Xin Seng. 1 - 3. That made three goals for
Moey Xin Seng. He'll be taking the match ball home with him having scored a hattrick! After 61 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defense allowed
Chan Ze Han to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 4. Grilled's
Shekar Kannan sent an early cross that saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert
Moey Xin Seng was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless netminder to make the score 1 - 5. 66 minutes into the match,
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. After 70 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Douglas Carapaica off.
Sølve Lunde took his place. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Chu Xin Lee came on for
Teo Chuan Yong. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach.
Vikram Mudaliar was first to reach a long ball launched through the center from Grilled's defense 71 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the keeper to make the score 1 - 6. After 72 minutes, Grilled's
Chu Xin Lee burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 7. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Grilled's
Bhavya Panigrahi put the visitors up 1 - 8 after 78 minutes. The fourth official announced that there would be 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 8. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 62 percent possession in this half was spot on!
The most outstanding Unendlichen player was without a doubt
Arno Beischer. I can't remember
Mitja Bračika ever having a worse night than he just had. Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Bhavya Panigrahi today.
