Grilled Birds trundled out to the pitch in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, FC Belashtica, chose to start the game with a 4-3-3 lineup. Grilled went for a narrow approach, using their divine (+6) (26) ability to focus their attacks down the middle. PeHgeTaTa's game plan was to sit back and absorb the pressure, then use their utopian (19) ability to break on the counter whenever possible. After 29 minutes, Grilled raised their score by one when
Shekar Kannan's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
Vikram Mudaliar. 1 - 0. Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when
Chan Ze Han broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive delegation behind him. 36 minutes had passed when Grilled put themselves up 3 - 0 after the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Chan Ze Han, who came up from the left and proceeded to easily go around the goalkeeper and knock the ball home. Halftime score was 3 - 0. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. 49 minutes into the game,
Sahib Al Abbasi broke up a promising Grilled attack single-handedly, using just the right amount of physical pressure on the ball holder. The crowd roared its approval when
Jānis Salmiņš somehow managed to block what seemed to be a certain goal by PeHgeTaTa's
Ragnar Christensen 61 minutes into the match.
Vikram Mudaliar was not content with his team's lead, and tried to extend it 65 minutes into the game after a nice run through the middle, but his shot went wide. PeHgeTaTa caught their opponents out with a clever counter-attack down the right wing 66 minutes into the game.
Jabeur Jebali was there to finish off the move - 3 - 1! The away team improved the scoreline to 3 - 2, as
Ronni Nousiainen was able to strike home thanks to a good play on the left 70 minutes into the match. After 75 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Salah Kamel off.
Heng Dong Chu took his place. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors.
Moey Xin Seng was able to squirm through the central defense after 75 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 4 - 2. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Chu Xin Lee reluctantly made way for
Teo Chuan Yong. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Gilbert Webb came on for
Douglas Carapaica. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 4 - 2. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 63 percent of possession.
Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. Good thing
Bhavya Panigrahi isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. PeHgeTaTa's best player was
Ronni Nousiainen. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Orazio Covaia sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
