The pitch was a disaster, due to all the rain. This spelled problems for the more sophisticated players, who usually could rely on speed or technique. Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Random Curiosity FC, chose to start the game with a 4-4-2 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+5) (25) level with that tactic. Curiosity were relying on their world class (13) ability to counter-attack. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Curiosity's Falagh Hatami Nia after 13 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. After 24 minutes of play, Moey Xin Seng evened things up for Grilled with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. Slack defending gave Grilled a chance to take the lead with 26 minutes played, but Vikram Mudaliar's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. Curiosity took the lead after 30 minutes making the score 1 - 2. Ang Sze Tze placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Grilled put pressure on the visitors' central defence 34 minutes into the game, but Bilal Mohammad Harun couldn't find an opening. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 62 percent of the ball.

Shekar Kannan managed to make an excellent pass from the wing, but Heng Dong Chu was not as skillful and couldn't finish it off. Grilled's Vikram Mudaliar made a successful breakthrough on the left after 56 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Grilled, but Douglas Carapaica's shot went over the bar. Bilal Mohammad Harun had a chance to even the score when Grilled were awarded a penalty kick 66 minutes into the match, but the keeper deflected his shot over the bar. Curiosity almost scored after a counterattack 67 minutes into the match, but Falagh Hatami Nia took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. Bilal Mohammad Harun was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 68 minutes, with his right thigh bandaged. The replacement for the injured player was Teo Chuan Yong. With Bilal Mohammad Harun no longer on the pitch, Vikram Mudaliar took over free kick duty. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. 69 minutes into the game, Douglas Carapaica came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. After 85 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud off the field. Kalki Parvathaneni took his place. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 2.
