98295 spectators had come to
Treelane 1 this cloudy day.
Dino Celadin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Juan José Chacon and
Serdar Kanun. The arena management had taken the extraordinary decision to boost some sections with temporary seats in order to guarantee every fan a place in the stadium.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+5) (25) level with that tactic.
Douglas Carapaica's marking of
Valiancin Pazutka was effective, but came at a cost, as he often had to abandon his original position on the field to follow his target around.
Kalki Parvathaneni made a nice dash down the wing after 17 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud to score after 27 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. 29 into the match, Grilled's
Teo Chuan Yong fell flat on his chest. After a breather, he was ready to continue. Many thought
Chan Ze Han ought to have been awarded a penalty 34 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
Basílio Alves after a determined run through the middle. With 40 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
Kutsi Kıymet put the ball away for 0 - 1. Grilled tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. 42 minutes in, Courtney's
Sukhdev Jogani received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud almost seemed to dance around
Yuri Ercolini, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Grilled, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Grilled put pressure on the visitors' central defence 49 minutes into the game, but
Kalki Parvathaneni couldn't find an opening. With 59 minutes played, Courtney's
Walter Lullin missed a penalty when the keeper made a premature dive in the right direction, and palmed the ball out of the way. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Heng Dong Chu came on for
Kalki Parvathaneni. Grilled's
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 71 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. The coach of Courtney wanted to try to change things around after 72 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions.
Bhavya Panigrahi was very close to giving Grilled the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 73 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Chu Xin Lee reluctantly made way for
Salah Kamel on the pitch. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. Courtney's
Atte Pääskylä managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 89 minutes. 1 - 2. The match ends 1 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Courtney, with 52 percent of the ball.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han.
Douglas Carapaica turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Courtney player was without a doubt
Atte Pääskylä. However,
Alexandru Ungureanu made a disastrous appearance.
