Grilled 2 - 2 Villains

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 60210 to The Cooking Pot. Florin Angheloiu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Winston Palmer and Krojan Koreshi. The intense heat made it hard for players relying on strength or speed to shine. On the other hand, it provided perfect conditions for the more technical players. The following players had been chosen by Grilled: Salmiņš - Panigrahi, Carapaica - Kamel, Xin Lee, Mohammad Harun, Xin Seng, Parvathaneni - Mudaliar, Mazhud, Ze Han.

Villains's lineup was: Ražić - Boven, Huiet, Saad, Hegger - Khramenkou, Sletner, Laurent, 村井 (Murai), Hanák - Siczek.

Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Villains F.C., the formation of choice was 4-5-1. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+6) (26) level with that tactic. For their match strategy, Villains had decided to use their extra-terrestrial (16) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Where ever Chan Ze Han went, Majeed Saad was there, nibbling on his heels. An admirable display of efficient man marking! Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Kalki Parvathaneni, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! 16 minutes into the game Villains's Jens Sletner found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Bogdan Siczek got himself booked. The manager of Villains was not happy. 32 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Bogdan Siczek, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. Salah Kamel was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Grilled's Moey Xin Seng managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 2 - 1 Coming through the middle Vladimír Hanák almost scored the equaliser for Villains after 36 minutes, but Jānis Salmiņš made an excellent save, tipping the awkward curled shot past the post. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

61 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Villains substitution. Wong Jian Yew came on for 裕次郎 (Yujiro) 村井 (Murai). As 裕次郎 (Yujiro) 村井 (Murai) exited the field, Vladimír Hanák volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Douglas Carapaica had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 64 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. Grilled's Bilal Mohammad Harun saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 65 minutes. The home team will be cursing Ciprian Huiet for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 2 - 2 after 68 minutes. 70 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Kalki Parvathaneni gave Heng Dong Chu a quick hug as he left the field. When Bogdan Siczek made yet another studs-first tackle after 74 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Villains player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. Andrej Khramenkou became the new Villains captain. The crowd groaned its disapproval when Bhavya Panigrahi missed a free kick that would have given Grilled the lead after 78 minutes. Salah Kamel would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Teo Chuan Yong entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 2 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Vikram Mudaliar. However, Teo Chuan Yong made a disastrous appearance. Villains's best player was Pierre Laurent. Majeed Saad on the other hand, had a terrible day.
