It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 4-5-1 formation while the visitors instead opted for a 2-5-3. Grilled used their divine (+6) (26) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Shiawase's
宏史 (Hiroshi) 高野 (Takano) finally got himself booked for a foul. Despite the fact that he was falling backwards,
Youssef Habach still managed to send an excellent header goalwards. The crossbar is the keeper's best friend though, and the ball bounced harmlessly out of play. After a fine move down the middle
Polang Mon nearly put the home side one up with 13 minutes played. His final touch escaped him though and the keeper smothered the ball. After 15 minutes, Grilled's
Moey Xin Seng made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. No matter how hard he tried,
Albeiro Retavisca just couldn't get past the visitors' right side defense 25 minutes in and eventually the ball was cleared away. The crowd roared in delight as
István Tóthpál finished off a spectacular series of plays up the middle to even the score for Shiawase after 30 minutes. 1 - 1. Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni rushed past his defender and should have scored, but the finish was just wide, taking some paint off the post as it went out. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 37 minutes of hard work with a breakthrough from
Albeiro Retavisca, who, all by his lonesome, came out of the right wing and hooked the ball over the visitors' keeper. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 53 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud came on for
Salah Kamel.
Wayne Fernee should probably have put his team up another goal after 69 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Jānis Salmiņš kept the visitors in the game. With the clock showing 70 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Kalki Parvathaneni looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Heng Dong Chu, though he would have liked to continue. After 77 minutes, the visitors evened the score after
Chan Ze Han made it through the middle and struck home making it 2 - 2. Shiawase broke through on the left after 78 minutes, with
István Tóthpál firing at an impossible angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead.
隆徳 (Takanori) 牧野 (Makino) was not content with his team's lead, and tried to extend it 83 minutes into the game after a nice run through the middle, but his shot went wide.
Joshua Kahangi's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save to deny
Vikram Mudaliar's equally fantastic shot after a break on the left 87 minutes into the game. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. Shiawase managed to extend their lead to 4 - 2 when
Agustín Carballo slid in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The match ends 4 - 2. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. The most outstanding Shiawase player was without a doubt
Polang Mon. Good thing
宏史 (Hiroshi) 高野 (Takano) isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Teo Chuan Yong today.
