Saint-Marin-United entered the field in a 4-5-1 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. With 3 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
Moey Xin Seng he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 1. As
Sølve Lunde had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Grilled player a red card without batting an eyelid. As Saint-Marin-United's
Floyd Boll took a knock to the head after 26 minutes, the doctor immediately requested a substitution. The player has had a history of head injuries, and the medical team could obviously take no chances with an injury like that.
Francesco Boi had already been warming up, and came on for
Floyd Boll. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Grilled's
Heng Dong Chu somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Chan Ze Han, who struck for 0 - 2. Grilled's
Chan Ze Han made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 37 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. 38 minutes into the game
Cosimo Spasiano could see that the opposing goalie was out of position and tried an unexpected lob that the keeper just barely reached. The rebound went to
Vittorio Stilli who failed to hit the target.
Abd Hadi Taib Mazhud received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 39 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The visitors'
Radovan Jaška took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 40 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Grilled.
Douglas Carapaica came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
Sabino Pellini but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
Danilo Ceccoli went down after twisting his left ankle after 42 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. This gave
Giancarlo Gasbarra a chance to take to the field instead. It was 0 - 4 at the break. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.
Chan Ze Han was, after 62 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Sabino Pellini made the save. Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Chan Ze Han delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 69 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. After 77 minutes, Grilled's
Chu Xin Lee burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. Given a free kick close to the byline, Grilled tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
Heng Dong Chu slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 6, 79 minutes into the game.
Douglas Carapaica would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Gilbert Webb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 85 minutes. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Heng Dong Chu reluctantly made way for
Atang Mangoye on the pitch. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 4 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 0 - 6. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.
Saint-Marin-United's best player was
Giancarlo Gasbarra.
Sabino Pellini turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han.
Radovan Jaška was a disappointment, however.
