Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Caribbean DKvD, the formation of choice was a 4-4-2. Grilled went for a narrow approach, using their divine (+6) (26) ability to focus their attacks down the middle. Using their magical (18) counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Caribbean today. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 4 minutes into the match left Caribbean's
Nazareno Gruñon completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. After 28 minutes,
Bernie Egan got through on the right and was very close to equalizing for the home side, but he didn't get the shot right and it rolled just past the far post. 29 minutes into the game,
Lorenzo Curridori put the finishing touch on a counter-attack down the left wing by Caribbean. 0 - 2. After 35 minutes, Caribbean's
Besar bin Hj Zaim burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3.
Teo Chuan Yong challenged the visitors' central defense eagerly, producing a good chance 37 minutes into the game as he raced for a through ball. But, like so many times before, the guests' defensive positioning was just too good. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 56 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Bilal Mohammad Harun looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Heng Dong Chu, though he would have liked to continue. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Caribbean's
Ilie Mateiuc finally got himself booked for a foul. 73 minutes into the match, Grilled's
Bernie Egan chased down a ball sent down the right and put it into the back of the net, narrowing the score to 1 - 3. Caribbean's
Nazareno Gruñon was shown a yellow card after 78 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 1 minutes as stoppage time. After 89 minutes, Grilled raised their score by one when
Chu Xin Lee's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
Moey Xin Seng. 2 - 3. Caribbean's
Nazareno Gruñon made it through the home team's defense on the right hand side 89 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded net when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Grilled made a good counter-attacking move down the left 90 minutes into the game, and
Chan Ze Han finished well for 3 - 3. The match ends 3 - 3. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Chu Xin Lee sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The most outstanding Caribbean player was without a doubt
Nazareno Gruñon. Good thing
Ilie Mateiuc isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
