Betos 3 - 5 Grilled
The 5145 spectators at
Beto's Bunker were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Jorge Luis Pantoja was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bogdan Žilić and
Patrik Schiffelholz. The intense heat made it hard for players relying on strength or speed to shine. On the other hand, it provided perfect conditions for the more technical players. Betos's lineup was:
Kauppi -
Ayano,
Grabulosa,
Neuhauser,
Biront -
Gilis,
Pervykh,
Boënnec,
Grzech -
Trionfini,
Ould Fella.
Grilled fielded:
Vadalà -
Panigrahi,
Webb -
田宮 (Tamiya),
Lunde,
Carapaica,
Kamel,
Velho -
Mottl,
Parvathaneni,
Jaška.
Beto's Way fielded a 4-4-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Betos decided to play creatively at a mythical (17) level. Grilled demonstrated their titanic (15) creative tactics on the field. Grilled's
Prokop Mottl gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 14 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Betos's
Adam Ould Fella put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 27 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. Betos took the lead 32 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as
Paolo Trionfini elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. The visitors refused to give in and, after 34 minutes,
Prokop Mottl evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 2 - 2 The terraces were silenced after 38 minutes when Grilled's
Douglas Carapaica put the guests ahead 2 - 3, following an attack on the right. With the scoreboard showing that 39 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Radovan Jaška came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Halftime score was 2 - 3. Grilled had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) gave
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) a quick hug as he left the field. 52 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 - 4 as
Prokop Mottl finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. By then
Prokop Mottl had scored three goals - a hat trick! It was almost a goal for Betos following
Jorgen Gilis's good header after a corner, it went just over the bar though. After 61 minutes, the Betos coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Jorgen Gilis off the field.
Bogdan Dybowski took his place. The visitors'
Kalki Parvathaneni took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 61 minutes into the match. 2 - 5 for Grilled.
Radovan Jaška came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
Janne-Pekka Kauppi but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. With 78 minutes played,
José Luiz Velho nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. It took several tries, but Betos managed to break through on the left after 79 minutes, getting the ball to
Mariusz Biront who easily reduced the lead to make the score 3 - 5. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Bhavya Panigrahi reluctantly made way for
Chirag Thevar on the pitch.
Bhavya Panigrahi was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. Betos's
Paolo Trionfini was shown a yellow card after 80 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 3 - 5. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 55 percent of the ball.
Betos's best player was
Xavi Grabulosa.
Janne-Pekka Kauppi turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Kalki Parvathaneni. On the other hand,
Chirag Thevar's play was disheartening.
