It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+7) (27) level with that tactic. After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
Alois Štajer scored for The putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 5 minutes. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Ján Gemer squirmed through their central defence after 27 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. The visitors' right side was dangerous today;
Chu Xin Lee made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily scored to reduce the lead to 2 - 1 38 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the game Grilled's
Salah Kamel found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2. The took the lead after 41 minutes as a result of
Alois Štajer's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 3 - 2.
Giovanni Fiorilli got left behind when Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar left scorch marks in the turf 43 minutes, finishing off with a blisteringly swift strike. 3-3! After 43 minutes, Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 3 - 4. Halftime score was 3 - 4. Grilled had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
With 54 minutes played,
Moey Xin Seng nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 74 minutes, Grilled's
Chan Ze Han burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 3 - 5. It took several tries, but The managed to break through on the left after 76 minutes, getting the ball to
Chang Wai Rong who easily reduced the lead to make the score 4 - 5. 77 minutes in, Grilled's
Salah Kamel received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 79 minutes into the match, an alert
Lars Smalbil bagged the ball for The, levelling the score to 5 - 5. 85 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Gilbert Webb came on for
Douglas Carapaica.
Mateja Jeftić would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Bhavya Panigrahi entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. With
Mateja Jeftić no longer on the pitch,
Bhavya Panigrahi took over free kick duty. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Bernie Egan off the field.
Kalki Parvathaneni took his place. The referee announced 4 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. 90 minutes into the match, a typically brave header by
Salah Kamel from
Heng Dong Chu's cross looped just over the opposing goalkeeper's desperate reach. Goal for Grilled, making the score 5 - 6. After 91 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Chu Xin Lee to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 5 - 7. The match ends 5 - 7. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
The's top performer was clearly
João Infante Amanajás. On the other hand,
Ján Gemer's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han.
Bhavya Panigrahi turned in a dismal performance, however.
