Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Ramseille Volliard FC lined up in a 5-4-1 formation. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+6) (26) ability to attack in the middle. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Ramseille, taking advantage of their magical (18) level with that tactic. With 10 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
Vikram Mudaliar flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. The visiting team's
Aleksander Szczypkowski was able to score the 1 - 1 equaliser with a header 18 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right.
Chan Ze Han gave Grilled the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1 Grilled solidified their lead at the 33 minute mark, as
Chu Xin Lee dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1.
Vikram Mudaliar had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 36 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Kalle ter Berg went down after twisting his right ankle after 38 minutes, and had to leave the pitch.
Bernie Egan tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. Grilled's
Bernie Egan had an excellent opportunity after 40 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! Halftime score was 3 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.
Chan Ze Han should probably have put his team up another goal after 51 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Giancarlo Buffon kept the visitors in the game. After 57 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Bernie Egan might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Giancarlo Buffon made a spectacular save. After 58 minutes Ramseille tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
Murathan Esinay's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. A great save by keeper
Giancarlo Buffon after 59 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
Chu Xin Lee struck from the left with a real cannonball. 74 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) broke through, making the score 4 - 1 for Grilled.
Murathan Esinay's speed was almost enough to give Ramseille a goal after 77 minutes, but his nice pass to
Carl-Georg Reeperbahn was not taken care of properly. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 78 minutes. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Douglas Carapaica gave
Gilbert Webb a quick hug as he left the field. 88 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Salah Kamel came on for
Heng Dong Chu. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 4 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han. However,
Salah Kamel made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Ramseille player was without a doubt
Murathan Esinay.
Elías Moreno turned in a dismal performance, however.
