Buccaneers 1 - 9 Grilled
The 3115 spectators at
Bentinck Island Bucc Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Cătălin-Sorin Leaha was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Serkan Orgun and
Lodewijk Spruijt. It was a sunny day and the Technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. The following players had been chosen by Buccaneers:
Aung Kyaw -
Huumonen,
Phyo Aung -
Myo Aung,
Detaille,
Tan,
Sue Myint,
Moe -
Zar Ni,
Ko Naing,
Vĩnh Toàn.
Grilled's lineup was:
Vadalà -
Panigrahi,
Webb -
敬龙 (Jinglong),
Lunde,
Carapaica,
Kamel,
田宮 (Tamiya) -
Mottl,
Egan,
Parvathaneni.
2-5-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled took the lead 10 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle.
Salah Kamel was the scorer. The home crowd was not impressed when
Gilbert Webb came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 13 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 2. The visitors'
Kalki Parvathaneni took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 14 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Grilled. 15 minutes into the match,
Salah Kamel came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
Sølve Lunde sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
Bhavya Panigrahi after 16 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 4.
Soe Moe dispatched a majestic long shot 27 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. 34 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Grilled's
Prokop Mottl was shown a yellow card after 37 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Zaw Zar Ni went down after twisting his right ankle after 38 minutes, and had to leave the pitch.
Eugenio Panioto tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.
Salah Kamel would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Radovan Jaška entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes.
Kalki Parvathaneni increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 5. The referee showed Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 72 minutes into the match, the speedy
Bernie Egan easily outpaced
Min Phyo Aung, chipped the keeper and made the score 0 - 6. At 73 minutes into the game, Buccaneers's
Thet Myo Aung deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 1 - 6. After 77 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) off the field.
Chu Xin Lee took his place.
Gilbert Webb became the new Grilled captain. After 83 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Bernie Egan a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 7. With the scoreboard showing that 85 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Kalki Parvathaneni came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
Arkar Ko Naing of Buccaneers received a yellow card after 86 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 87 minutes, Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 8. That made three goals for
Kalki Parvathaneni and he was marked down for the hat trick. 88 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Bhavya Panigrahi gave
Chirag Thevar a quick hug as he left the field. As
Bhavya Panigrahi left the field, the coach signaled to
Gilbert Webb to be the new set pieces taker.
Mikko Huumonen got left behind when Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni left scorch marks in the turf 88 minutes, finishing off with a blisteringly swift strike. 1-9! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Mikko Huumonen from Buccaneers a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 89 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Mikko Huumonen went down after twisting his left ankle after 89 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The replacement for the injured player was
Tep Loun. With
Mikko Huumonen no longer on the pitch,
Tep Loun took over free kick duty. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 5 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 1 - 9. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
The most dominating Buccaneers player was without a doubt
Eugenio Panioto.
Tep Loun was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was
Bernie Egan.
Chirag Thevar turned in a dismal performance, however.
