The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Chocolate and vanilla has decided to play a 3-4-3 lineup. They were singing the praises of
Vikram Mudaliar 2 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Grilled. Grilled solidified their lead at the 4 minute mark, as
Vikram Mudaliar dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Grilled's
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Prokop Mottl, who struck for 3 - 0. With 28 minutes played, Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Cheers filled the stadium as
Kalki Parvathaneni broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Grilled. Grilled's
Mateja Jeftić put in a disappointing effort on a penalty after 40 minutes, firing just wide of the goal. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.
Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar had an excellent opportunity after 52 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar increasing the lead to 5 - 0. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
Vikram Mudaliar. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
José Luiz Velho squirmed through their central defence after 79 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0.
José Luiz Velho would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Teo Chuan Yong entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. 80 minutes in, Chocolate's
Osvaldo Anderssen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Vikram Mudaliar had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 82 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Radovan Jaška unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Prokop Mottl off the field.
Yee Jian Hui took his place. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 6 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 73 percent of the time.
Most important Grilled player was
Vikram Mudaliar. On the other hand,
Yee Jian Hui's play was disheartening. The most dominating Chocolate player was without a doubt
Boniface Rakotoniaina.
Philippe Randriamanjaka on the other hand, had a terrible day.
