The teams had chosen different formations for the match. The home team, Grilled Birds, went for a 2-5-3, while Harvers United has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. 2 minutes into the game,
Daniel Gansen almost gave the visitors the lead, as he chipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Chan Ze Han's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal in minute 18 following a run up the middle gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead.
Salah Kamel was doing a great job on the wing, sending in a brilliant pass to his teammates in the middle, but
Heng Dong Chu seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. 37 minutes had passed when Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 after the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Moey Xin Seng, who came up from the left and proceeded to easily go around the goalkeeper and knock the ball home.
Moey Xin Seng was not content with his team's lead, and tried to extend it 38 minutes into the game after a nice run through the middle, but his shot went wide.
Sølve Lunde should probably have put his team up another goal after 40 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Karsten Kvist kept the visitors in the game. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Salah Kamel bringing the lead up to 3 - 0. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 68 percent possession in this half was spot on!
Grilled added another goal to their lead as
Moey Xin Seng struck home for 4 - 0 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. After 51 minutes, the Harvers coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Romain Mercereau off.
Logan Blackburn took his place. 68 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as
Heng Dong Chu ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 5 - 0 for Grilled.
Chan Ze Han could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 71 minutes. As the 75 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Mateja Jeftić reluctantly made way for
Bhavya Panigrahi. As
Mateja Jeftić left the field, the coach signaled to
Bhavya Panigrahi to start taking the set pieces that occurred. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Kalki Parvathaneni gave
Vikram Mudaliar a quick hug as he left the field. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 1 minutes as stoppage time. A great save by keeper
Karsten Kvist with 89 minutes gone kept the visitors in the game after
Chan Ze Han struck from the left with a real cannonball. The match ends 5 - 0. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Bhavya Panigrahi sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Most important Harvers player was
Ignacio Colmenares. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Karsten Kvist today.
