The referee only showed the Grilled player a yellow card though. The referee signaled a penalty for the home side with 24 minutes gone, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Grilled fans erupted in celebration as Mateja Jeftić rifled the go-ahead goal into the top right hand corner. 1 - 0! The visitors got just what they'd been looking for after 31 minutes when Firmino Marques received a pass from the left and buried it in the bottom corner, leveling it at 1 - 1. Grilled took the lead 41 minutes in, as Moey Xin Seng broke through on the left and put his shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper, bringing the score to 2 - 1. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they directed a break on the wing into the center of the park. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. Salah Kamel was able to squirm through the central defense after 43 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 3 - 1. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their player Hugo Lamnek scored to make it 3 - 2 after 44 minutes, following a good pass from the right. It was 3 - 2 at the break. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Düsseldorf would have 51 percent possession in this half was spot on!

Sølve Lunde got left behind when Düsseldorf's Sandro Köhler-Saftig made a sudden rush forward in minute 55, finishing it off with a clinical strike. 3 - 3! The visitors' central defense should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Chan Ze Han, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fire a low shot that 5-holed the keeper to give his team the lead. 4 - 3! 69 minutes had passed when Grilled put themselves up 5 - 3 after the visiting defenders lost the ball to Chu Xin Lee, who came up from the left and proceeded to easily go around the goalkeeper and knock the ball home. Hugo Lamnek looked around after sending his opponent to the ground to realize he was the last man. That's called denial of a goalscoring opportunity, and the Düsseldorf player was sent off after 70 minutes. One of many good passes from Salah Kamel at the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by Chan Ze Han, scoring the 6 - 3 goal for Grilled. Grilled solidified their lead at the 78 minute mark, as Kalki Parvathaneni snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 7 - 3. With the clock showing 80 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Moey Xin Seng looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Vikram Mudaliar, though he would have liked to continue. As the captain was no longer on the field, Chan Ze Han took over the role for Grilled. The clock read 86 minutes and things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 8 - 3 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Salah Kamel. The fourth official announced that there would be 4 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 8 - 3.
