Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, The Flower Kings, chose to start the game with a 4-5-1 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their magical (18) level with that tactic. It was obvious that FlowerKing were using their inadequate (5) pressing skill as their primary tactic. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. After a fine move down the middle
Gilbert Webb nearly gave the home side a goal after 18 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Grilled's
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Vikram Mudaliar, who struck for 1 - 0. Grilled solidified their lead at the 31 minute mark, as
Salah Kamel dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. With 32 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Vikram Mudaliar, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. A well-executed free kick by
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) after 36 minutes made it 4 - 0 for Grilled. 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 64 percent of the ball.
Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Cheers filled the stadium as
Vikram Mudaliar broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to Grilled. At that,
Vikram Mudaliar was noted down for a hat trick! After 61 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Prokop Mottl might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
William Saileti made a spectacular save. 69 minutes into the game
Potipher Sianga could see that the opposing goalie was out of position and tried an unexpected lob that the keeper just barely reached. The rebound went to
Enock Muzanenhamo who failed to hit the target. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) reluctantly made way for
Heng Dong Chu on the pitch. With
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) no longer on the pitch,
Gilbert Webb became the new set pieces taker.
Vikram Mudaliar was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. With 73 minutes played, Grilled's
Salah Kamel almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
Vikram Mudaliar could have increased the lead after 75 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 88 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Radovan Jaška gave
Yee Jian Hui a quick hug as he left the field. After 88 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) off the field.
Chirag Thevar took his place.
Bwalya Osward Zulu would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Golden Mapili entered the game for FlowerKing as the match clock showed 89 minutes. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a FlowerKing substitution.
Warren Hachilensa came on for
Lucky Litana. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 5 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Vikram Mudaliar. On the other hand,
Chirag Thevar's play was disheartening. The most dominating FlowerKing player was without a doubt
Warren Hachilensa.
Jacek Walenciuk on the other hand, had a terrible day.
