Barney's FC fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was a 2-5-3. Using their outstanding (10) counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Barneys today. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, using their divine (+7) (27) ability to great effect. 10 minutes in Grilled probably could have turned their free kick into a shot, but went for a cross instead. Unfortunately, Chan Ze Han jumped too late and the ball was redirected out for a goal kick. Barneys showed their counter-attacking skill 11 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with Khalil Al-Saadi scoring an easy goal for 1 - 0. After 30 minutes, the visitors evened the score after Kalki Parvathaneni made it through the middle and struck home making it 1 - 1. Grilled's Kalle ter Berg could have put the guests one up 34 minutes in after chasing a through ball from the right, but Terje Svele was as quick as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. Oh dear - the keeper's made a mess of that one. The crowd was very disappointed after he let Chan Ze Han get the go-ahead goal with a speculative shot from the right after 36 minutes. 1 - 2. After 37 minutes of game time, Bilal Mohammad Harun had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, hitting a cross from the right with a half volley, but Terje Svele was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. After 38 minutes of play, Ladislav Ondričko evened things up for Barneys with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. 2 - 2 was the halftime score. The referee showed Grilled's Moey Xin Seng the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 59 minutes into the match, the Speedy Gonzalez-like Vikram Mudaliar easily outran Alex Bozdog to knock in the 2 - 3 goal. Ion-Adrian Aldea almost seemed to dance around Kalle ter Berg, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Barneys, his shot ended up on the wrong side of the post. Maybe it was because of his team's lead, or maybe it was due to the ease with which he broke down the left, but Teo Chuan Yong was a bit too sure of his talents, so instead of taking the easy tap-in goal after 64 minutes, he went for the backheel, which he put woefully wide. Barneys were great at switching from defense to attack, and after 65 minutes, Ion-Adrian Aldea swept through the middle on a fantastic counter-attack, making the score 3 - 3. The bleachers were silenced after 73 minutes when Grilled's Teo Chuan Yong put the guests ahead 3 - 4, following an attack on the right. The visitors added to their lead 74 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Grilled's Bhavya Panigrahi slid just past the home keeper. 3 - 5. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Kalki Parvathaneni off. 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) took his place. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. Salah Kamel came on for Kalle ter Berg. It was announced by the fourth official that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 3 - 5. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 66 percent possession of the ball.

Barneys's top performer was clearly Mohamed Ameur Larayedh. Speaking of stinking up the place, Lavrentiy Lazko sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Grilled's best player was Chan Ze Han. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Teo Chuan Yong seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
