Grilled Birds trundled out to the pitch in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Aston Piaston Pantso Villa, chose to start the game with a 4-5-1 lineup. Grilled used their divine (+7) (27) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. It was obvious, dreadfully boring, and yet tantalizingly effective, to see albino using their brilliant (11) pressing skills as their primary tactic. The visitors' central defense should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Kalki Parvathaneni, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fire a low shot that 5-holed the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors.
Bilal Mohammad Harun was able to squirm through the central defense after 21 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 2 - 0.
Chan Ze Han was not content with his team's lead, and tried to extend it 28 minutes into the game after a nice run through the middle, but his shot went wide. At this time in the match, albino were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.
Chan Ze Han should probably have put his team up another goal after 57 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Per Fyhrby kept the visitors in the game. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Grilled's lead to 3 - 0 as
Bernie Egan finished it off clinically, firing the shot from a terrible angle. albino's talent at pressing frustrated their opponents and the fans as the game became a stalemate in the middle of the park. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 73 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving
Mechyslau Dziagil' completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, rolling slowly to the home side's keeper. An accurate cross from Grilled's
Teo Chuan Yong was met with a wonderful off-balance header from
Moey Xin Seng, hitting the inside base of the post before curling up into the back of the net like a dog in front of a fire for 4 - 0. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Kalki Parvathaneni reluctantly made way for
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong). 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Kalle ter Berg gave
Salah Kamel a quick hug as he left the field. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 4 - 0. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 56 percent possession in this half was spot on!
Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Teo Chuan Yong today. albino's top performer was clearly
Mechyslau Dziagil'. Good thing
Laurent Pillon isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
