Grilled 4 - 3 UDNTK

Clouds darkened the skies at The Cooking Pot as 62496 spectators turned up for the match. Arne Krog was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Urbino Gonçalves and Thomas Prestegaard. Grilled's lineup was: Salmiņš - Webb, Jeftić - 敬龙 (Jinglong), Kamel, Mohammad Harun, ter Berg, Egan - Ze Han, Mudaliar, Xin Seng.

UDNTK's starters: Barbara - Kantminas, Celedón, Tăsică - Znyk, Olainieks, Godlieb, Burghgraaff, Miguel - Galov, Carda.

Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, UDNTK FC, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+8) (28) ability to attack in the middle. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for UDNTK on this day, taking advantage of their supernatural (14) level with that tactic. Many thought Bilal Mohammad Harun ought to have been awarded a penalty 6 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Martin Barbara after a determined run through the middle. After 7 minutes, Bilal Mohammad Harun came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Grilled the lead. Vikram Mudaliar could have increased the lead after 23 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. UDNTK showed their counterattack skill 24 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with Joan Carda scoring uncontested for 1 - 1. Gilbert Webb caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 29 minutes. This gave Grilled the 2 - 1 lead. With clinical precision, the cross from winger 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) found its way to Moey Xin Seng's head, and a screaming header gave Grilled the goal after 30 minutes played. 3 - 1 The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Mariano Miguel from UDNTK a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 32 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Grilled's Kalle ter Berg hurt his back 32 minutes into the match, and had to be convinced by the medical team that it was safer not to continue the match. Teo Chuan Yong tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. 3 - 1 was the halftime score. Grilled had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

Grilled solidified their lead at the 52 minute mark, as Vikram Mudaliar dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 62 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. Mariano Miguel knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the UDNTK player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. Grilled's Bilal Mohammad Harun saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 72 minutes. UDNTK's right side looked dangerous after 76 minutes, as Joan Carda broke through. Jānis Salmiņš continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Bernie Egan reluctantly made way for Chu Xin Lee on the pitch. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Vikram Mudaliar gave José Luiz Velho a quick hug as he left the field. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. UDNTK made it 4 - 2 as Benjamin Godlieb got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to Viktors Olainieks who whipped a low drive in off the far post. 89 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as Joan Carda anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 4 - 3. UDNTK were close to putting the equaliser away after 89 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to Viktors Olainieks in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. The match ends 4 - 3. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Chan Ze Han. José Luiz Velho on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating UDNTK player was without a doubt Andrija Galov. Adikas Kantminas turned in a dismal performance, however.
