Haha 4 - 2 Grilled
The 83151 spectators at
Haha Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Carlton Laplace was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Horaţiu Pap and
Juliusz Lelonkiewicz. It was a sunny day and the Technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. The following players took the field for Haha:

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Haha went for 5-3-2 while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. For their match strategy, Haha had decided to use their mythical (17) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+8) (28) level with that tactic. The goal to make it 1 - 0 was scored by
Giuseppe Ghiringhelli after 10 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Haha. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Kalki Parvathaneni from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 18 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 19 minutes,
Cory Trang was massaging his right knee with a worried look on his face, but managed to get up in the end. Grilled's right side looked dangerous 24 minutes in, but
Giuseppe Teani made a good save on
Vikram Mudaliar's hard shot to the top corner. Grilled had a chance to level the scores as
Bernie Egan suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. Haha were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 26 minutes,
Simon Mazlov swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 2 - 0. With 30 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Haha's
Sorin-Dan Corbean reached
Isaac An's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 3 - 0. Haha's
Simon Mazlov had an excellent opportunity after 36 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! With the clock showing 39 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Haha resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
Simon Mazlov in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 79 percent.
Cory Trang stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Haha the goal to make it 4 - 0. Haha almost scored after a counterattack 52 minutes into the match, but
Simon Mazlov took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net.
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Grilled's
Kalle ter Berg an easy chance to knock it in for 4 - 1. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Haha coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Giuseppe Ghiringhelli reluctantly made way for
Ursin de Rougemont on the pitch. 70 minutes into the game, Haha wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Simon Mazlov gave
Félix Valdayo a quick hug as he left the field. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Chan Ze Han off the field.
Chu Xin Lee took his place. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. With clinical precision, the cross from winger
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) found its way to
Salah Kamel's head, and a screaming header gave Grilled the goal after 90 minutes played. 4 - 2 The match ends 4 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.
Ursin de Rougemont performed admirably for Haha. On the other hand,
Isaac An's play was disheartening. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Vikram Mudaliar.
Kalki Parvathaneni on the other hand, had a terrible day.
