Grilled 3 - 2 Ramseille

71284 spectators had come to The Cooking Pot this cloudy day. Tawfeeq Muhammad was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Vojtěch Čížkovský and Mikael Kotokorpi. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Jurong derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. The following players had been chosen by Grilled: Salmiņš - Webb, Jeftić - 敬龙 (Jinglong), Kamel, Egan, ter Berg, Parvathaneni - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Xin Seng.

Ramseille's starters: Buffon - Ramberg, Lõhmus, Moreno, Eliava, Bačnar - Sonino, Esinay, Robert, Reeperbahn - Lamm.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Ramseille Volliard FC has decided to play a 5-4-1 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+8) (28) level with that tactic. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Ramseille on this day, taking advantage of their divine (+1) (21) level with that tactic. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Grilled took the lead 2 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as Bernie Egan elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. After 17 minutes, Murathan Esinay sent the corner kick right to Steinar Ramberg who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 1! The visiting Vasil Eliava was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 27 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score. After 32 minutes, Jānis Salmiņš suffered a slight injury to his right calf muscle. However, it was not enough to stop him from continuing the game. Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni almost tied things up with 34 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. With 35 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Ramseille resulted in a counterattack that set Leopold Lõhmus free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. After 36 minutes, Salah Kamel got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. Ramseille almost scored after a swift counterattack 37 minutes into the game, but Carl-Georg Reeperbahn put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 66 percent of the ball.

As the 65 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Mateja Jeftić reluctantly made way for Bhavya Panigrahi on the pitch. With Mateja Jeftić no longer on the pitch, Bhavya Panigrahi took over free kick duty. Steinar Ramberg came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Jānis Salmiņš but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 68 minutes of play, Kalki Parvathaneni evened things up for Grilled with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Kalle ter Berg, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! Kalki Parvathaneni had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 84 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. It was a fine day for 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) on his wing, his cross pass to Kalle ter Berg was especially delicate 85 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. Gilbert Webb would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Bilal Mohammad Harun entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The referee showed Ramseille's Vasil Eliava the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The match ends 3 - 2. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.

Grilled's best player was Chan Ze Han. On the other hand, Bilal Mohammad Harun's play was disheartening. Ramseille's top performer was clearly Murathan Esinay. Elías Moreno was a disappointment, however.
