Sarcastic Fringeheads fielded a 5-4-1 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Fringeheads clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their mythical (17) level with that tactic. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+8) (28) ability to attack in the middle. Bogdan Bărbulescu had been tasked with man marking Chan Ze Han. He did this well, but often fell out of position doing so, forcing his team mates to cover for him. With 13 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to Kalki Parvathaneni he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 1. Fringeheads's Vincent Chan got himself booked for a foul. 27 minutes into the match, Bernie Egan came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The head of Chan Ze Han connected with a corner kick after 29 minutes, and the ball ended up with Kalle ter Berg of Grilled who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 0 - 2. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. With 31 minutes played, Bilal Mohammad Harun nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

Gilbert Webb was, after 52 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Artur Rosa Gomes Oliveira made the save. Good work by the Fringeheads defensive line after 53 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found Chew Fu Chuan alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Mladen Jurkota would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Răzvan Patca entered the game for Fringeheads as the match clock showed 65 minutes. 73 minutes into the game, Fringeheads wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Chew Fu Chuan gave 黄 (Huang) 健铭 (Jianming) a quick hug as he left the field. As Chew Fu Chuan exited the field, Ryan Kerr volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. After 75 minutes, Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. Moey Xin Seng came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Artur Rosa Gomes Oliveira but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. 82 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Fringeheads substitution. Gareth Illes came on for Mladen Milostić. After 88 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Kalki Parvathaneni off the field. Heng Dong Chu took his place. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Chan Ze Han reluctantly made way for 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) on the pitch. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 0 - 3. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Fringeheads's top performer was clearly Andrej Apatič. Bogdan Bărbulescu was a disappointment, however. Moey Xin Seng performed admirably for Grilled. However, Heng Dong Chu made a disastrous appearance.
