The coaches were in sync today, as both teams lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. After 9 minutes, Grilled's
Salah Kamel made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Always quick and a menace to his opponents,
Pavel Zhukarkin got through after 26 minutes, but the keeper deflected his shot and a defender took care of the rebound. After 33 minutes, Grilled's
Bhavya Panigrahi burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2.
Mateja Jeftić could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. After 38 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Bernie Egan who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 3. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. It was a fine day for
Teo Chuan Yong down the touchline, and his cross to
Moey Xin Seng 49 minutes in was executed especially well, but the keeper saved the ensuing shot. With 62 minutes played,
Bernie Egan nearly put the visitors up by one more as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot whizzed just over the bar. The game had been going for 63 minutes when
Vikram Mudaliar broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4 for Grilled, much to the home crowd's dismay. With 66 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
Chan Ze Han. With the clock showing 70 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Bhavya Panigrahi looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Gilbert Webb, though he would have liked to continue. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 71 minutes on the clock after
Tiberiu Petrache's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Toismadigre player a yellow card though. The home crowd did not lose faith and cheered their team on as they strove to get back into the game. The fans were rewarded after 73 minutes when
Carlo Maria Pavarotti burst forward, 5-holed the central defender and then mischievously lobbed the ball over the advancing goalie to make the score 1 - 5. Definitely a SportsCenter Top 10 candidate – DA-DA-DA! DA-DA-DA! Grilled's
Salah Kamel received a ball slotted perfectly through the home side's central defense after 79 minutes, and chipped it past the helpless keeper to increase the lead to 1 - 6. The away fans won't regret traveling for this one! 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Bilal Mohammad Harun gave
Neeraj Muthyala a quick hug as he left the field. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Vikram Mudaliar off.
Kalki Parvathaneni took his place. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 1 - 6. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 57 percent of possession.
Most important Toismadigre player was
Tadeusz Banul. I can't remember
Viktor Roditelev ever having a worse night than he just had. The most outstanding Grilled player was without a doubt
Kalki Parvathaneni. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Teo Chuan Yong today.
