van der Heide.
Lineup:

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for a 2-5-3. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favor of their divine (+7) (27) ability to attack in the middle. Making his way up the middle after 2 minutes,
Juan Sarcos almost managed to sneak a goal past the visitors' keeper, but
Massoud Dob was ready and blocked it to keep the score level. After 15 minutes, Grilled sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
Kalki Parvathaneni, who had plenty of time to shoot and score - 0 - 1.
Chu Xin Lee was doing a great job on the wing, sending in a brilliant pass to his teammates in the middle, but
Moey Xin Seng seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. With a shot lofted in from just outside the penalty area 30 minutes in,
Milton Ryan of Kbzon evened the score to 1 - 1. After 39 minutes cheers broke out as
Juan Sarcos found his way through the guests' central defensive line, rattling the 2 - 1 goal in off the woodwork for Kbzon. The home team thought they were lucky after a brilliant strike from the right bounced off the crossbar 41 minutes in.
Vikram Mudaliar was first to react though, and leveled the game at 2 - 2. Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar could have put the guests one up 43 minutes in after chasing a through ball from the right, but
Mannus Blankendaal was as quick as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) was unable to give the visitors the go-ahead goal after his attack from the left in minute 43. It was 2 - 2 at the break. Neither team had an advantage in possession this half.
60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Kalle ter Berg gave
Teo Chuan Yong a quick hug as he left the field.
Arvid van der Heide's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal in minute 67 following a run up the middle gave Kbzon the 3 - 2 lead.
Chu Xin Lee finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just over the home side's keeper, making the score 3 - 3 68 minutes into the game. After 70 minutes, Grilled began to show their lack of experience and they threatened to wilt under the heavy pressure from their opposition. The guests almost went up by a goal with 71 minutes elapsed when
Salah Kamel came through from the right. The shot bounced harmlessly off the post, though. After 75 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) off.
Cyril Künzler took his place. With
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) no longer on the field,
Cyril Künzler was the new set pieces taker. With the clock showing 75 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Kalki Parvathaneni looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Bernie Egan, though he would have liked to continue. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time.
Thomas Wimmer got left behind when Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar made a sudden rush forward in minute 89, finishing it off with a clinical strike. 3 - 4! Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Vikram Mudaliar delivered a low effort on goal from the right but the angle was too sharp, and the shot was destined for the side netting. The match ends 3 - 4. The battle in midfield was tight, with possession split evenly between the teams.
Kbzon's best player was
Arvid van der Heide. I can't remember
Mannus Blankendaal ever having a worse night than he just had. Most important Grilled player was
Vikram Mudaliar. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Gilbert Webb today.
