Deinos 2 - 5 Grilled
65993 punters turned up at
Fossil Park, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Saut Ketter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ugo Maria Matrone and
Uni Vang Olsen. The following players took the field for Deinos:
Răducu -
Ridwan,
Sada -
Schlattmeier,
Long Hock,
Abd El Khalek,
Bargielski,
Usel -
Salvans,
Tarkowski,
Mana.
The following players had been chosen by Grilled:
Dob -
Webb,
Panigrahi -
敬龙 (Jinglong),
Kamel,
Mohammad Harun,
Parvathaneni,
Xin Lee -
Mudaliar,
Ze Han,
Xin Seng.
The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations. Deinos took a divine (+1) (21) creative approach on the field. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+7) (27) ability to attack in the middle. Grilled's
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 7 minutes into the match. Deinos were awarded a penalty 14 minutes into the game but
Adam Bargielski produced a poor shot, quite easily saved by
Massoud Dob. Deinos fans held their breath as
Fokko Schlattmeier scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! A wonderful trick by
Ivo Mana that left
Salah Kamel bewildered really deserved to end in a goal but the keeper made a fine save. 37 minutes into the game Grilled's
Vikram Mudaliar found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. After 39 minutes, Grilled's
Moey Xin Seng made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2.
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong)'s speed was clear to see after 41 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
Chan Ze Han who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 1 - 3. 41 minutes into the match, Deinos's
Faust Salvans collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 2 - 3.
Moey Xin Seng received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 42 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 4. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 43 minutes, Grilled attempted an attack but had to cede the ball in frustration. They could not find their way through the mighty
Chew Long Hock, who acted as an effective roadblock on Deinos's defensive midfield. Halftime score was 2 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Neeraj Muthyala came on for
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong). With
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) no longer on the pitch,
Bhavya Panigrahi took over free kick duty. Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
Moey Xin Seng would have put Grilled up another goal 55 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
Fabián Usel went down after twisting his right ankle after 71 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The player that took his place was
Randolph Chiu. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Gilbert Webb gave
Mateja Jeftić a quick hug as he left the field. After 80 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Kalki Parvathaneni who increased Grilled's lead to 2 - 5. With the scoreboard showing that 83 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Vikram Mudaliar came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Vikram Mudaliar delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 90 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. The match ends 2 - 5. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
Deinos's top performer was clearly
Ivo Mana. However,
Nawaf Sada made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Chan Ze Han.
Neeraj Muthyala turned in a dismal performance, however.
