Chew, Kadri Get Started
Two more trainees embarked on their pro careers today, first amongst them the Rancher Rabbits' Chew Dong Heng, who was signed by Portucuese VI.383 club Fracos e humildes FC on a free. Josué Raposo Silva had already laid out over a million dollars on more-senior staff in Arco ten Hoopen, Giuseppe Piròli and Abdechakour Elwafi - but none are forwards, as the 18 year-old Chew is.
Chew was nothing if not a go-getter, having nearly worked his way into the Sabre Toothed Blennies - storied youth side of Sarcastic Fringeheads - only to not make the final cut. This might be due to him not being an instinctive talent, as several of his coaches have remarked; while an eager study and hard worker, Chew has not quite exhibited the dash of natural genius, that distinguishes so many great strikers.
Yip De Da, who took the plunge on Chew nevertheless, retained faith in him. "Dong Heng is an exemplar of where effort can take one, and he's made it all the way thus far. I wouldn't bet against him."
The Busy Bees' Kadri bin Hj Said was not exactly regarded as top-shelf goods either, but Dutch Division Five leaders Sportclub Peru would nevertheless come in with the offer of a training contract - one that was instantly accepted. An all-rounder during his time with the Bees, the 17 year-old has yet to discover his best position, but his height has made him a favourite at set pieces.
Kadri might find it slightly hard to fit in, however, given that Sportclub Peru have only Badri Nazighaidze and Almen Rüesch in his age group - with the former already preparing to leave. Fortunately, fellow Bruneian Hj Muhd bin Jamrin - formerly of Ami Riehen - is here too, and should be able to provide some guidance to the newcomer.
