Bot 6 - 2 Grilled

The 40509 fans in attendance at Kandang Harimau were roasting in the hot sun. Emmanuel Job was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Zougou M'Bassidje and Giovanni Datenet. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. Bot's starters: Jardin - Anžel, Lopo - Han, Jarvis, Puay Lai, Bolognini, Bernstein - Konaev, Lai Chuan, Pelowski.

Grilled's lineup was: Dob - Jeftić, Panigrahi - Xin Lee, Kamel, Mohammad Harun, ter Berg, Parvathaneni - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Xin Seng.

As the teams prepared to start the match, they both lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+8) (28) level with that tactic. Bot took the lead after 3 minutes as a result of Kwek Puay Lai's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. The visitors didn't give in and, after 11 minutes, Bilal Mohammad Harun got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1. 13 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Bot was David Anžel. Grilled tied it all up, 14 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by Vikram Mudaliar, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 2 - 2. Bot fans held their breath as Carl Pelowski scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 3 - 2! Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Phang Lai Chuan squirmed through their central defence after 16 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 2. It was 4 - 2 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Bot, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Mateja Jeftić off the field. Gilbert Webb took his place. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Bot's Paride Bolognini increasing the lead to 5 - 2. Bot's Bahri Han had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to Paride Bolognini who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Bot to 6 - 2 as Villads Bernstein finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Grilled had a fair chance to reply after 71 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end Chan Ze Han was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Salah Kamel from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 72 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Bot's Carl Pelowski saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 74 minutes. Coming in on the left, Kalle ter Berg did everything right to get a goal for Grilled after 80 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Bilal Mohammad Harun gave Teo Chuan Yong a quick hug as he left the field. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 6 - 2. Bot had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

The most dominating Bot player was without a doubt Kwek Puay Lai. David Anžel on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was Chan Ze Han. Kalki Parvathaneni was a disappointment, however.
