It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+7) (27) level with that tactic. Down the middle came
Chan Ze Han, making a fantastic play that nearly had Grilled take the lead after 11 minutes, but
Rizvi Younes preserved the tie. 18 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for The was
João Infante Amanajás. 32 minutes in, The's
Alois Štajer received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Kalle ter Berg came close to levelling the score 40 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Kalle ter Berg of Grilled seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
Bhavya Panigrahi.
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Chu Xin Lee entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 60 minutes. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Grilled took the lead 64 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle.
Neeraj Muthyala was the scorer. After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper,
Vikram Mudaliar demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for Grilled 78 minutes into the match made the score 1 - 3. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
Moey Xin Seng received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 84 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 85 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Gilbert Webb gave
Mateja Jeftić a quick hug as he left the field. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as
Barry Nakamura tried lifting the ball over keeper
Massoud Dob. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. 88 minutes into the match,
Chu Xin Lee came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Neeraj Muthyala reluctantly made way for
Heng Dong Chu on the pitch. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
Moey Xin Seng was, after 89 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Rizvi Younes made the save. The refused to be intimidated and, breaking through the middle,
Alois Štajer managed to slip the ball home for 2 - 4. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
The's top performer was clearly
João Infante Amanajás.
Giovanni Fiorilli was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han.
Bhavya Panigrahi on the other hand, had a terrible day.
