Grilled 4 - 3 Deinos

88120 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Vitus Bjerregaard was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rigoberto Rivera and Sevan Beaudouin. The following players took the field for Grilled: Dob - Webb, Panigrahi - Xin Lee, Kamel, Mohammad Harun, ter Berg, Muthyala - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Xin Seng.

The following players had been chosen by Deinos: Pěnkava - Shetty, Long Hock, Sada, Nie Jin - Chiu, Chao Ah, Bargielski, Ridwan, Usel - Salvans.

Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Club Dinosauria lined up in a 4-5-1 formation. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+7) (27) level with that tactic. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Deinos on this day, taking advantage of their utopian (19) level with that tactic. Hemanth Shetty always provides an aerial threat at corners, and with 12 minutes gone, he demonstrated this, outjumping his marker, then letting out an anguished howl as his powerful header went narrowly wide. 26 minutes into the game, Ong 'Kryptonite' Chao Ah broke up a promising Grilled attack single-handedly, using just the right amount of physical pressure on the ball holder. Grilled were very close to putting themselves one up after 29 minutes as Kalle ter Berg got through on the left. However, his concentration failed him, and he shot wide. Chu Xin Lee was doing a great job on his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his teammates in the middle, but Neeraj Muthyala seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. Grilled made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left Chu Xin Lee completely alone with keeper Radovan Pěnkava, who made a spectacular block. Deinos almost scored after a swift counterattack 40 minutes into the game, but Bok Nie Jin put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Grilled took the lead 42 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as Kalle ter Berg elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 44 minutes, Deinos did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, Randolph Chiu was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 1. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Moey Xin Seng, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! Halftime score was 2 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.

A great save by keeper Radovan Pěnkava after 74 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Bhavya Panigrahi struck from the left with a real cannonball. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Chu Xin Lee had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 76 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the game, Che Zambil Ridwan finished off a Deinos left wing counterattack, making the score 2 - 2. 79 minutes into the match and the home team took a 3 - 2 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Grilled was Kalle ter Berg. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Gilbert Webb gave Mateja Jeftić a quick hug as he left the field. 81 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Deinos substitution. Ivo Mana came on for Randolph Chiu. Ivo Mana became the new Deinos captain. 81 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 3 - 3 as Ong 'Kryptonite' Chao Ah struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. After 83 minutes, the Deinos coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Bok Nie Jin off the field. Francisco Martínez Cabezón took his place. 83 minutes in, Deinos appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak (4). Hemanth Shetty would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Heng Ah Wei entered the game for Deinos as the match clock showed 85 minutes. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. They were singing the praises of Chan Ze Han 89 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 4 - 3 to Grilled. The match ends 4 - 3. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Chan Ze Han. On the other hand, Chu Xin Lee's play was disheartening. Ong 'Kryptonite' Chao Ah performed admirably for Deinos. However, Francisco Martínez Cabezón made a disastrous appearance.
