It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+8) (28) ability to attack in the middle. Grilled's opponents know to be wary of
Vikram Mudaliar's speed, but it made little difference as he flew past the defence 1 minutes into the game. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. 0 - 1 was the score with 20 minutes played, after
Kalle ter Berg cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. 32 minutes into the match,
Bernie Egan came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Sol's
Naim Gardezi was shown a yellow card after 43 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Bernie Egan was unable to continue, following a severe injury to his right knee, 44 minutes into the match. The replacement for the injured player was
Kalki Parvathaneni.
Hemanth Sonkusare charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Sol, but the shot went well wide of the goal. The visitors'
Kalle ter Berg took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 44 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Grilled. It was 0 - 2 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
Moey Xin Seng could have put his team up another goal 51 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. At 54 minutes into the game, Sol's
Ville Huotari deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 1 - 2. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 55 minutes into the match, an alert
Xherdan Shaqiri bagged the ball for Sol, levelling the score to 2 - 2. 66 minutes into the game,
Gilbert Webb had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
Javier 'Morelos' Góngora hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Sol's
Dzmitry Zhankevicz an easy chance to knock it in for 3 - 2. After 72 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Frane Grozdanić gave the Sol supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 2.
Chu Xin Lee managed to make an excellent pass from the wing, but
Salah Kamel was not as skillful and couldn't finish it off. The home team's fans were upset when, after 77 minutes, the visiting
Vikram Mudaliar broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 4 - 3 was the score.
Salah Kamel would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Cyril Künzler entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 85 minutes. 85 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Mateja Jeftić came on for
Gilbert Webb. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 4 - 3. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.
Sol's best player was
Dragan Urošević. However,
Ville Huotari made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han.
Chu Xin Lee was a disappointment, however.
