Briviesca 6 - 1 Grilled

Weather conditions were pretty good for football today. Lineup: Doni - Aarni, Mess, Beltrão, Hegedűs - Guşatu, Farouk, Sebralla, Ahmed, Csupics - Popa.

Starters: Dob - Panigrahi, Jeftić - 敬龙 (Jinglong), Ze Han, ter Berg, Kamel, Xin Lee - Parvathaneni, Xin Seng, Egan.

Briviesca C.F. fielded a 4-5-1 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was a 2-5-3. A utopian (19) level of counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Briviesca. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+7) (27) ability to attack in the middle today. Grilled took the lead after 12 minutes making the score 0 - 1. The keeper had no chance on Chan Ze Han's fine volley fromleft of the net after a cross from the right. With 15 minutes played, Cristinel Guşatu knocked one home from a counter-attack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 1. Briviesca's Sohrab Ahmed tried to break through the middle repeatedly, but the visitors' defenders were just too alert. Salah Kamel came close to putting the visiting team one up 35 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Roberto Doni managed to tip the ball over. Jan Sebralla was very close to giving Briviesca the lead with an ingenious free kick routine after 36 minutes, but the ball just grazed the bar. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 54 minutes in when Mateja Jeftić found himself alone with Roberto Doni who managed a block. József Csupics of Briviesca finished off the counter-attack from the left rather easily, making it 2 - 1. Briviesca caught their opponents out with a clever counter-attack down the right wing 57 minutes into the game. Cristinel Guşatu was there to finish off the move - 3 - 1! Briviesca were great at switching from defense to attack, and after 66 minutes, Octavian Popa swept through the middle on a fantastic counter-attack, making the score 4 - 1. It was a fine day for József Csupics down the touchline, and his cross to Montassar Farouk 68 minutes in was executed especially well, but the keeper saved the ensuing shot. 69 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as Montassar Farouk ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 5 - 1 for Briviesca. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. Gilbert Webb came on for Bhavya Panigrahi. Briviesca put themselves up 6 - 1 when Alex Hegedűs broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive delegation behind him. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) off. Heng Dong Chu took his place. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 6 - 1. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 53 percent possession of the ball.

Octavian Popa performed admirably for Briviesca. Speaking of stinking up the place, Cristinel Guşatu sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Grilled's top performer was clearly Moey Xin Seng. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Chu Xin Lee seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
