As the teams prepared to start the match, they both lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+7) level with that tactic. It was a fine day for
Neeraj Muthyala on his wing, his cross pass to
Bilal Mohammad Harun was especially delicate 7 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. 9 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Grilled to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
Moey Xin Seng alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. After 21 minutes, Grilled were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
Bilal Mohammad Harun did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. After 23 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Bot was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. They were singing the praises of
Chan Ze Han 24 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Grilled. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Gilbert Webb increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 55 percent of the ball.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Kalki Parvathaneni came on for
Chan Ze Han. The visitors replied 56 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 2 - 1, as
Anthony Jarvis dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. A well placed corner kick from
Bhavya Panigrahi was followed by
Moey Xin Seng's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Grilled, the score now 3 - 1. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Bhavya Panigrahi gave
Mateja Jeftić a quick hug as he left the field. As
Bhavya Panigrahi left the field, the coach signaled to
Kalle ter Berg to be the new set pieces taker.
Gilbert Webb was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his right knee after 73 minutes.
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) had already been warming up, and came on for
Gilbert Webb.
Kalki Parvathaneni could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 74 minutes. Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni got himself booked for a foul. 80 minutes into the game, Bot's attack got through on the right, but
Niels Grevenbrück couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes.
Massoud Dob made a brilliant save 90 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from
Anthony Jarvis on the right hand side. 90 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni received his second yellow card and was sent off.
Neeraj Muthyala was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his left knee after 90 minutes. The coach had his head in his hands, as he realised he could not send a replacement onto the pitch. The team had to continue a man short. The match ends 3 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Bernie Egan.
Bilal Mohammad Harun was a disappointment, however. Bot's best player was
Kwek Puay Lai.
Fabio Trasferti on the other hand, had a terrible day.
