Coming from the right, Vikram Mudaliar almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Singapore's Krystian Wiatrak tried his best to narrow the score with a well placed free kick, but it wasn't quite good enough and Massoud Dob managed to block the shot. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Vikram Mudaliar squirmed through their central defence after 38 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 65 percent of the ball.

Heng Dong Chu left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Chan Ze Han was the replacement. The Singapore players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Singapore manager used a brief break in play after 50 minutes to give the players new directives.
