Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+7) ability to attack in the middle. Haha were relying on their mythical ability to counter-attack. After 3 minutes, Gilbert Webb was massaging his right knee with a worried look on his face, but managed to get up in the end. Aw Tian Jin did everything in his power to contain Bernie Egan from having an impact in the game. A risky tactic, as Aw Tian Jin was often pulled away from his starting position in the process. Many thought Kalki Parvathaneni ought to have been awarded a penalty 17 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Carlos Andino after a determined run through the middle. Grilled's Vikram Mudaliar tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. After 21 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Haha on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by Gerry Clijsen to make it 0 - 1. Gilbert Webb showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 23 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. They were singing the praises of Vikram Mudaliar 24 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Grilled. A foul called during a Haha counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but Nasrul Haq Khairil Syahmi's shot rattled off the post. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 79 percent of the ball.

Haha needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes Aw Tian Jin made way for Ursin de Rougemont. After 60 minutes, Haha used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. It was showtime for artist Ursin de Rougemont who showed off his technical mastery when he rounded Bilal Mohammad Harun and finished with a goal to make the score 2 - 2. After a fine move down the middle Salah Kamel nearly gave the home side a goal after 71 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. Good work by the Haha defensive line after 72 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found Basilio Rampazzi alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Chua Ze Xin would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Roger Viroux entered the game for Haha as the match clock showed 75 minutes. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Jos� Luiz Velho came on for Kalki Parvathaneni. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 2 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 79 percent of possession.

Vikram Mudaliar performed admirably for Grilled. However, Bhavya Panigrahi made a disastrous appearance. Haha's top performer was clearly Ursin de Rougemont. On the other hand, Miguel Pargui�a's play was disheartening.
