The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 5100 had shown up at Los Únicos Arena for the match. Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. One of many good crosses from Chu Xin Lee on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by Moey Xin Seng, who scored for Grilled. 0 - 1 The visitors almost increased their lead after 21 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar. Grilled's José Luiz Velho got himself booked for a foul. 29 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when Grilled's José Luiz Velho received his second yellow card and was sent off. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Bernie Egan was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 30 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After 32 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. The home team's supporters got excited again when Bradley Asporaat broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 2. The visitors added to their lead 35 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Grilled's Jérémy Tarin slid just past the home keeper. 1 - 3. Encouraged by their lead, after 44 minutes the Grilled coach asked Bilal Mohammad Harun to change positions with Moey Xin Seng. 1 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

Jérémy Tarin increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 4. Gilbert Webb received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 70 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 5. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 73 minutes, Grilled's Gilbert Webb burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 6. Michel Simmons got left behind when Grilled's Bernie Egan left scorch marks in the turf 76 minutes, finishing off with a blisteringly swift strike. 1-7! With 77 minutes played, Chu Xin Lee nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. With the scoreboard showing that 78 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after Vikram Mudaliar came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Jérémy Tarin would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Leonard Nguyen entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. Jérémy Tarin was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Gilbert Webb got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 4 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 1 - 7. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.

Daniele Governini performed admirably for Únicos. However, Franky de Maar made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's top performer was clearly Moey Xin Seng. Leonard Nguyen turned in a dismal performance, however.
