Automat 1 - 7 Grilled

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 29200 had shown up at West Coast Point Aut Arena for the match. Jill 'Sander' Ghorbani was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Idrees Faya'a and Luigi Reboa. Automat's lineup was: Montblanch - Chedeville, Guarino - Charles, Pergół, Rizzo, Nemes, Rodrigues - Phansalkar, Banothu, Kärkkäinen.

The following players took the field for Grilled: Dob - Webb, 中北 (Nakakita) - Künzler, Mohammad Harun, Muthyala, Xin Seng, Ze Han - Parvathaneni, Egan, Mudaliar.

The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations. Underestimation of the opposition made Grilled players perform way below their normal capacity. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+5) level with that tactic. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Grilled's Bilal Mohammad Harun after 15 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. Chan Ze Han of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 38 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. Automat's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 41 minutes into the match as Tomasz Pergół ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

During the break, Grilled have had a conversation about the risk of taking this win for granted. At least some of the players should have taken this to heart as the referee signals the start of the second half. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) off the field. Bhavya Panigrahi took his place. Gilbert Webb received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 51 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Chan Ze Han would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Heng Dong Chu entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 60 minutes. An accurate cross from Heng Dong Chu of Grilled was met with a wonderful glancing header from Neeraj Muthyala, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 1 - 4. 65 minutes into the match, Bernie Egan came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The visitors' Moey Xin Seng took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 66 minutes into the match. 1 - 5 for Grilled. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. After 70 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Vikram Mudaliar who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 6. Genésio Guarino went down after twisting his right ankle in minute 73, but was able to continue the match none the less. 74 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 7 as Vikram Mudaliar finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Vikram Mudaliar reluctantly made way for Prokop Mottl on the pitch. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 7. Grilled had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

Automat's best player was Anish Phansalkar. Manuel Rodrigues turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Bernie Egan. However, Prokop Mottl made a disastrous appearance.
