Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up coming through the center. Grilled solidified their lead at the 14 minute mark, as Neeraj Muthyala snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 2 - 0. The away team improved the scoreline to 2 - 1, as Tankut 'Enes' Örik was able to strike home thanks to a good play on the left 23 minutes into the match. The visitors didn't give in and, after 37 minutes, İsmail Ege Cansu got through the home side's central line of defense, rolling in the leveling goal to make it 2 - 2. Halftime score was 2 - 2. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 55 percent possession in this half was spot on!

Vikram Mudaliar's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal in minute 53 following a run up the middle gave Grilled the 3 - 2 lead. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Chan Ze Han gave Kalki Parvathaneni a quick hug as he left the field. As the captain was no longer on the field, Moey Xin Seng took over the role for Grilled. Cyril Künzler let loose a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The crowd was silenced 66 minutes into the match as the visiting team's İsmail Ege Cansu came in from the left, tying the game up at 3 - 3. With 73 minutes gone, the home side took a 4 - 3 lead as Kalki Parvathaneni raced down the right flank and casually flipped the ball into the net after a searing cross from the far side of the pitch. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
