Grilled 8 - 0 R.ChamWin
It had rained all day, but 60592 hardy fans still made it out to
The Cooking Pot.
Abdallah Abdallah was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marcos Espadañero and
Rocco Saccone. For strong, physical players the heavy rain was easy to overcome, it was even an advantage given their style of play. Others, such as the quick or technical ones, made bleaker appearances. Grilled's starters:
Dob -
Webb,
Panigrahi -
Künzler,
Mohammad Harun,
Muthyala,
Xin Seng,
Dong Chu -
Parvathaneni,
Egan,
Mudaliar.
R.ChamWin's lineup was:
Chochol -

Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Real ChamWin F.C, the formation of choice was 3-5-2. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+4) level with that tactic. It was obvious that R.ChamWin were using their passable pressing skill as their primary tactic.
Cyril Künzler made a nice dash down the wing after 6 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. Grilled took the lead after 28 minutes as a result of
Bhavya Panigrahi's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Cyril Künzler increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Grilled's
Bhavya Panigrahi was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 33 minutes. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 37 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Kalki Parvathaneni might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Eduard Chochol made a spectacular save. Grilled solidified their lead at the 39 minute mark, as
Moey Xin Seng dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. 40 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Bhavya Panigrahi broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Grilled. 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
Grilled managed to extend their lead to 5 - 0 when
Bilal Mohammad Harun cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Despite hurting his left foot at the 59 minute mark,
Vikram Mudaliar decided to keep playing. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Bernie Egan squirmed through their central defence after 63 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0. The bench was restless, and with 65 minutes passed R.ChamWin's coach gave
Nemanja Momčilović the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
Fabien Tavares reluctantly left the field.
Vikram Mudaliar had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 71 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. The referee showed R.ChamWin's
Kwek Yun Guang the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 76 minutes,
Kalki Parvathaneni put Grilled ahead 7 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. 88 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Bilal Mohammad Harun gave
Islom Davlatov a quick hug as he left the field. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air.
Bernie Egan wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Prokop Mottl after 89 minutes.
Cyril Künzler left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
José Luiz Velho was the replacement. With
Cyril Künzler no longer on the pitch,
Neeraj Muthyala took over free kick duty. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 4 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! Cheers filled the stadium as
Islom Davlatov broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 8 - 0 to Grilled. The match ends 8 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 63 percent of the ball.
Kalki Parvathaneni performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand,
José Luiz Velho's play was disheartening. R.ChamWin's top performer was clearly
Abraham Candelas.
Calvin Gößnitz turned in a dismal performance, however.
