40421 fans braved the pouring rain at
Living Hell.
Mateja Virić was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hortensio Cañeque and
Dickie Suys. The rain was pouring down, it was the kind of weather favoured by strong players who stick to simple football. For players possessing of speed or technical skills, the day really was as grim as for everyone else. Xaviers's lineup was:

Aizat Amrin,

Feng Liang,
Belgrano -
Ah Min,
Xin Lai,
Nie Jie,
Sethi,
Husain Khairul Akmal -.
The following players took the field for Grilled:
Vadalà -
中北 (Nakakita),

Mohammad Harun,

Mudaliar.
St. Xavier's FC fielded a 5-5-0 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. It was obvious that Xaviers were using their formidable pressing skill as their primary tactic. Grilled used their divine (+4) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. 22 minutes into the game,
Bilal Mohammad Harun had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 32 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Xaviers's
Hilman Abd Ghani Husain Khairul Akmal to one side and produced a red card for the player. After 32 minutes, the Xaviers coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Zubaidi Izzat Aizat Amrin off the field.
Yip Chang Aik took his place. With 35 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
Nikhil Sethi flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 37 minutes,
Vikram Mudaliar broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
Antoni Sauri made a great block, though. The visiting team's
Vikram Mudaliar was able to score the 1 - 1 equaliser with a header 40 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. 41 minutes into the game,
Bernie Egan almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Grilled nearly took the lead, as
Chu Xin Lee broke through on the right.
Antoni Sauri made the save, however. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
Cyril Künzler was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 43 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Chu Xin Lee gave
Neeraj Muthyala a quick hug as he left the field. Xaviers's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. The pressing tactics used by Xaviers were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. The guests took the lead 83 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
Bhavya Panigrahi scoring to make it 1 - 2. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 1 - 2. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.
The most dominating Xaviers player was without a doubt
Nikhil Sethi.
Liew Feng Liang turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's best player was
Vikram Mudaliar.
Manuel Vadalà was a disappointment, however.
