Grilled 3 - 0 Singapore

Clear skies welcomed the 73523 spectators who had made their way to The Cooking Pot. Dorian Bătrînac was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andrea Noferi and Barrett Sterling. The following players took the field: Dob - Webb, Panigrahi - Künzler, Mohammad Harun, Xin Lee, Xin Seng, Parvathaneni - Ze Han, Egan, Mudaliar.

Lineup: Mabenda - Svensson, Ciugudean, Lindqvist - Modi, Murthy, Zhang, Matsumoto, Chu Shun - Yew Leong, Lock.

Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Singapore Big Dogs, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Singapore's Mahesh Murthy left the field after 24 minutes having twisted his hand in a collision, causing a slight injury. Tay Ting Lee tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for Bhavya Panigrahi to score after 25 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Grilled took the lead after 28 minutes as a result of Chan Ze Han's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. Singapore's Hudson Matsumoto hurt his back 31 minutes into the match, and had to be convinced by the medical team that it was safer not to continue the match. Joey Ling had already been warming up, and came on for Hudson Matsumoto. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 58 percent of the ball.

Chu Xin Lee had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 52 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. The referee showed Singapore's Vinod Modi the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 57 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Cyril Künzler broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Grilled. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Bhavya Panigrahi gave 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) a quick hug as he left the field. The game was close to savage at times, and Singapore's Vinod Modi received a second yellow card after 60 minutes; his ticket out of the game. The home side's Chu Xin Lee came close to extending the lead 69 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Wicaksana Mabenda managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Kalki Parvathaneni could have increased the lead after 82 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 3 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Vikram Mudaliar after 83 minutes. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Kalki Parvathaneni reluctantly made way for Radovan Jaška on the pitch. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Bernie Egan off the field. Prokop Mottl took his place. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 3 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Chan Ze Han. Radovan Jaška was a disappointment, however. Deng Yew Leong performed admirably for Singapore. However, Edward Lock made a disastrous appearance.
