Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Royal, but Tan Chao Tian's shot went over the bar. Li Yi Chee earned a rousing chorus of cheers from his fans as he seemed to come out of nowhere after 36 minutes to intercept the ball and put it in the back of the net for Royal. 1 - 1. Despite the injury to his right foot not looking all that serious, Ng Yi Sze decided to play it safe. It was not the first time he hurt that foot, and he asked to be taken off the field after 41 minutes. Fang Liang De tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. 1 - 2 was the score with 42 minutes played, after Chu Xin Lee cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. With 43 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Moey Xin Seng of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 3. Grilled's Prokop Mottl was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 43 minutes. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when Li Yi Chee tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. Massoud Dob was too alert for that! The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Neeraj Muthyala came on for Prokop Mottl. A drive down the left side allowed Chu Xin Lee to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 48 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 4. Fang Liang De tried to get a goal back for Royal but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. With 57 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to Bilal Mohammad Harun he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 5. The referee showed Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Arul Raju was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 59 minutes, with his left thigh bandaged. Quah Shi Woon had already been warming up, and came on for Arul Raju. Neeraj Muthyala has acquired a talent for predicting the movements of the opposing defence over the years and this almost resulted in a goal 70 minutes into the match. The visitors' Chan Ze Han took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 71 minutes into the match. 1 - 6 for Grilled. The Grilled free kick 72 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of Neeraj Muthyala, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 7! Bhavya Panigrahi increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 8. Bilal Mohammad Harun would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. Most important Royal player was Li Yi Chee. Fang Liang De on the other hand, had a terrible day. Moey Xin Seng performed admirably for Grilled. Gilbert Webb turned in a dismal performance, however.
